Biography
Michaelangelo (Michael) Allocca lives in Brooklyn and returns to the Basic Program after a 10-year hiatus: he previously taught for fifteen years, and was Program Chair and Senior Lecturer for the last seven (2008-15) of those. He won the BP’s Excellence in Teaching Award in 2010. Besides the BP, he taught in Greece for the U of C’s Traveling Academy five times; taught religious studies at Dominican and DePaul Universities; and taught Latin and Theology at three high schools. In addition to reading and teaching, he enjoys cooking, movies, theater, travel, and music.
