Biography
Jane Kim is a GSAL alumna who went on to complete her Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia. She is the CEO and founder of KindEd, a social media and AI literacy platform to strengthen youth agency in an algorithm-driven world.
A former teacher in Chicago, Jane saw firsthand how screens and social media were reshaping student behavior, relationships, and school culture. While at the University of Chicago, she was named an Obama Foundation Scholar, a runner up at the John Edwardson, ’72, Social New Venture Challenge, and Tarrson Social Venture Fellow for her work with KindEd. She was also an International House Graduate Fellow and Davis Projects for Peace Grant Recipient.
Jane’s work sits at the intersection of policy, technology, education, and social entrepreneurship. She was a speaker at the Council of Europe’s World Forum for Democracy initiatives on social media literacy and a UNESCO Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Grant recipient. Her path reflects a deep commitment to public service and innovation, and she continues to build programs that create meaningful impact for young people.
