Biography
Greg Kot has been the music critic at the Chicago Tribune since 1990, covering popular music and its social, political, and business dimensions. With Jim DeRogatis, he cohosts Sound Opinions, “the world’s only rock ‘n’ roll talk show,” on national public radio. His books include Wilco: Learning How to Die, Ripped: How the Wired Generation Revolutionized Music, I’ll Take You There: Mavis Staples, the Staple Singers and the March up Freedom’s Highway, and The Beatles vs. The Rolling Stones: Sound Opinions on the Great Rock ‘n’ Roll Rivalry (coauthored with DeRogatis). A longtime contributor to Rolling Stone, he has written for numerous national publications including Entertainment Weekly, Guitar World, and Vibe.
