Biography
Alvaro Iriarte serves as Content Director at Instituto Res Publica (IRP), a Chilean think tank that promotes the classical tradition of virtue, freedom, and responsibility in the public discussion. He has taught Chilean Constitutional History and other legal courses. Before joining IRP, he worked as a mining and natural resources lawyer and served four years as a legal advisor at the Chilean Chambers of Deputies. Alvaro is a UChicago MLA alumnus and looks forward to utilizing liberal arts education both to promote a virtuous and free society as well as to teach the fundamental aspect of the Chilean constitutional tradition. He lives in Santiago de Chile with his wife. He likes to travel, read, and watch classic cartoons.
