Biography
Scott Kirby is CEO of United Airlines. He previously served as president from 2016 to 2020, overseeing operations, marketing, sales, alliances, network planning, and revenue management, and playing a key role in United’s cultural transformation and strategic growth. In December 2020, he was elected Chairman of the Star Alliance Chief Executive Board and also serves on the International Air Transport Association Board of Governors.
Prior to United, Scott was president of American Airlines from 2013 to 2016 and US Airways from 2006 to 2013, bringing more than three decades of airline industry leadership. He began his career at the Pentagon and in the technology sector and holds degrees from the U.S. Air Force Academy and George Washington University.
