2027 NMPS Mentorship Program
The 2027 NMPS Mentorship Program aims to foster meaningful connections within the museum publishing community by pairing mentees with experienced mid-career and senior-level professionals.
Mentees may be new to museum publishing, mid-career professionals taking on new responsibilities, or anyone seeking to expand their professional networks. Mentors may be seasoned or mid-career professionals who are interested in strengthening their leadership and mentoring skills while providing guidance on career goals, professional development opportunities, and emerging perspectives in museum publishing. Mentees are encouraged to talk with mentors about specific challenges they are facing and anything else that would benefit their career advancement.

Complete the Mentorship Form by October 15, 2026, to be considered for the first round of matches.
Eligibility Requirements
- Participants should be planning to attend either Museum Publishing for Beginners in February–March 2027 or the in-person conference in April 2027.
- Participants should attend the virtual NMPS Mentorship Kick-Off Meeting on January 27, 2027, 1:00 p.m. ET.Â
Participants will be matched by the NMPS Engagement Subcommittee. Participants will be notified of their matches around the first week of January 2027. If your contact details change or interest in the program changes in the interim, please notify Jennifer Lu at jennifer.lu@brooklynmuseum.org.
Program Expectations
Mentors and mentees will be paired based on their areas of interest, goals, and needs. They will be introduced via email in early January, attend a kickoff meeting in late January, and are encouraged to meet for three sessions over the span of six to nine months. Sessions are recommended to be 30–45 minutes each.
The mentee is expected to take the initiative in reaching out about scheduling sessions and come prepared with questions, topics, and/or goals. Pairs are encouraged to meet in person if attending the in-person 2027 NMPS conference.Â
In Autumn 2027, participants will be asked to complete a post-program survey.
