“All Will Be Well”: Reading Julian of Norwich’s Showings

Cost
155.00

This course was available in the past and may be presented again as part of the Open Enrollment curriculum.

Julian of Norwich (d. post 1416), English mystic and anchorite, wrestled with the mysteries of suffering, evil, and the promise of redemption. Contemporaries saw Julian even in her own lifetime as a spiritual master and sought her guidance. Julian reports her visions and dialogue with Christ in her classic spiritual book, Showings. Setting Julian’s thought in the context of Christian thought, the course will discuss Julian’s insights on evil and suffering.
