Biography

Originally from Louisiana, I’ve lived over half of my life in Chicago married to my husband John. I am currently retired after spending over 25 years in sales and marketing careers at Fortune 100/500 companies in Medical/Technical Chemical Sales.

While our two sons were growing up I was very involved in our community, serving on multiple school and community organizations. Currently, I serve on the Art Institute’s 19th Century Art and Sculpture Committee and the Byzantine Committee. I’m also a member of the Arts Club of Chicago and the University of Chicago Women’s Board.

My interests are continuing to learn during our extensive travel throughout the year along with hiking, wellness, visiting museums and art galleries and spending time with family and friends.

My experience with U of C began with taking noncredit classes at the Gleacher Center many years ago. Having graduated from college with a B.S. in Biology, the Liberal Arts was an interest to me. Taking noncredit classes was such a terrific learning experience that I decided to push myself to interview with staff as a candidate for the MLA Program. After being accepted – although tough for me at times and having been away from school so long – I pushed myself forward and never looked back! One of my favorite memories was taking a pop quiz in an Astronomy with Michael Turner on a day he wasn’t lecturing. It was a bit surprising, but I actually did very well and was shocked at how much I had learned!! Words cannot express my learning experience and support from all of my professors on staff.”
