Biography
David Yamada is a Professor of Law and Director of the New Workplace Institute at Suffolk University Law School in Boston, where he specializes in employment law, law & psychology, and public interest law. He is a leading authority on the legal and organizational implications of workplace bullying and related forms of employee mistreatment. In 2021, the American Bar Association spotlighted David’s work in this realm in the “Members Who Inspire” feature of its membership magazine.
David is active in many volunteer service activities. Along with the Graham Council, his current associations include the Massachusetts Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health (board member), International Society for Therapeutic Jurisprudence (board member and founding chair), National Institutes of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (member, advisory committee on preventing sexual harassment in higher education), and Revolutionary Spaces, Inc. (board vice chair).
David’s formal education includes degrees from Valparaiso University (B.A.) and New York University (J.D.). Although his adult years have been spent on the east coast, he is a native of northwest Indiana, and he has maintained an ongoing connection with family and friends in the Chicagoland area.
