Rosemarie Mitchell

Retired CEO of ABS Associates, Convocation Alumni Speaker

Rosemarie Mitchell is the 2023 Convocation Alumni Speaker for the Graham School. She is the retired CEO of ABS Associates, a company she co-founded with her husband, Tom, in 1982 to provide outsourced service desk, desktop, and network support to major corporations. Prior to ABS Mitchell served as president of public relations firm Creative Communications.  She is a member of the Illinois Institute of Technology Board of Trustees and is former chair of the Board of Advisors for Stuart School of Business.   In recognition of professional achievement, she was selected and inducted by the Stuart School with honorary membership into the international honor society Beta Gamma Sigma.  She received the Keith and Freddie Pederson Distinguished Leadership Award from the Barrington Area Council on Aging for her outstanding leadership on behalf of older adults and family caregivers in the community and is the 2017 recipient of Illinois Tech’s Galvin Award which honors non-alumni for their leadership and dedication.

Mitchell served on the BMO Harris Bank Barrington Board of Directors and is past president of the Board of Directors for the Barrington Area Council on Aging as well as a past member of Vistage, an international organization of presidents and CEOs. She also served on the University of Chicago Visiting Committee to the Division of the Biological Sciences and the Pritzker School of Medicine.

Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeastern University and a Master of Liberal Arts degree from the University of Chicago. She has four adult children, nine grandchildren, and currently resides in Chicago with her husband and best friend, Tom.
