Kenneth Kaufman is Founder, Managing Director, and Chair of Kaufman Hall. Since 1976, Mr. Kaufman has provided healthcare organizations with expert counsel and guidance in areas including strategy, finance, financial and capital planning, and mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships. Clients include community hospitals and health systems, academic medical centers, and regional or national health systems.

Recognized as a leading authority on healthcare industry change, Mr. Kaufman has given more than 500 presentations to hospital and healthcare professional associations, board and executive groups, and other organizations. Mr. Kaufman also has authored or coauthored seven books, most recently authoring Fast and Furious: Observations on Healthcare’s Transformation and Focus on Finance. In addition, he’s often quoted and his articles regularly appear in major healthcare publications.

Mr. Kaufman is the recipient of the 2019 Richard L. Clarke Board of Directors Award from the Healthcare Financial Management Association for lifetime contribution to healthcare.

Mr. Kaufman has an M.B.A. with a concentration in Hospital Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
