Hope Sheffield

Mystery Writer and Former Attorney

Hope Sheffield graduated from the Basic Program at the University of Chicago in 2008 and has taken alumni courses every year since then. She has a B.A. in psychology from Harvard College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School, which she thoroughly enjoyed. After working for a year as a litigator at Jenner Block, Hope had her first daughter, published her first short story, and quit her job. She then devoted herself to raising four daughters and a trailer son. In addition to taking numerous classes, Hope has published five North Shore mystery novels: Blood Mother, The Inflatable Man, Turnabout, The Glass Table, and The Poisonous Tree. Outside of classes, Hope enjoys theater, books, movies, travel, walks, and keeping up with friends, her husband Jeff, and their children and grandchildren.
