Erin McInerney

Retired EVP and CMO, LaSalle Bank Corporation

Erin McInerney is retired Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of LaSalle Bank Corporation, a financial services company with $110 billion in assets later, acquired by Bank of America. Accountable for a $900 million P&L for the retail and small business banking products, she also led all aspects of enterprise-wide marketing and communications - including a broad platform of high profile, branded activities such as the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon. She played a leading role in developing a distinctive value proposition for the retail bank generating significant increases in earnings – by delivering enhanced products, a comprehensive promotional campaign, price enhancements, and cost savings.

Her service at LaSalle followed a three decades career with BMO Harris Bank, a $100 billion in assets regional bank, where she served on the bank’s management committee as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Customer Strategies and earlier as Executive Vice President and Deputy Head of Harris Private Bank. Those roles followed successive assignments and promotions in a variety of business lines reflecting her strength in repositioning businesses to create substantial growth – including capital markets, commercial lending and treasury management.

Following her 35-year career in banking, McInerney served for several years as Executive Director of CEO Perspectives, a unique, leadership program for C-Suite executives of Fortune 500 companies sponsored by a partnership of University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, and Corporate Leadership Center. Responsible for strategic direction, marketing, and delivery of the program, she worked to bring about the acceleration of enterprise perspective in senior leaders, drawing lessons from business school faculty, CEO speakers and C-Suite executives. Program highlights included enhanced careers for Fellows including promotions/more responsibility in their own company, serving as directors on public company boards, or becoming CEOs themselves.

McInerney’s corporate governance experience includes serving as an independent director of Hinsdale Bank and Trust, a regional subsidiary of Wintrust Corporation, as a member of the audit, risk, and compensation committees. She also served on the board of ADABEI, Inc., the for-profit subsidiary of the American Dental Association specializing in small business services for dentists, as chair of the Audit and Finance Committee. Additional corporate governance responsibilities included service on the board of Delta Dental of Illinois’ for-profit subsidiaries – as Chair of Protec Insurance Company and director of TruTec Holding Company – and previously, as an inside director of Harris Bank Hinsdale.
