About the Event

How has information technology shaped the ideas of civilization over the last 2500 years?

Join us for a conversation with historian and Graham School instructor Fred Beuttler to explore how IT has impacted the philosophical and spiritual ideas in Western culture. Together, we will revisit the struggle between the “Ancients” and the “Moderns,” and look at the relationship between “Techne” (science and technology) and “Sophia” (wisdom).  Does wisdom progress like science and technology?

The conversation will preview Dr. Beuttler's forthcoming course at Graham.
