Antigone Deep Dive
This course was available in the past and may be presented again as part of the Basic Program of Liberal Education curriculum.
This class is meant as a second reading of Sophocles' Antigone (read in the first quarter of the Basic Program), for those already somewhat familiar with the play; it is designed to build on previous knowledge and dig further into the nuances of the text, the characters, and the language. We will engage in a closer reading of the text over three classes, and will also introduce some supplementary materials on influential readings and staging of the play.
