Kevin Russell

Retired Partner, Latham & Watkins

Kevin hails from Michigan. He received an A.B. from Albion College, where he was the salutatorian of his graduating class, and a J.D. from Michigan Law School, where he was a Note Editor on the Michigan Law Review. He retired in 2013 after 25 years as a partner in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins specializing in commercial litigation. Shortly before his retirement Kevin joined the Basic Program of Liberal Education for Adults, which he completed in 2016, and he has continued to take liberal arts classes at the Graham School ever since then. His favorite class readings include the Iliad, The Sound and the Fury, The Master and Margarita and Pale Fire. Kevin currently serves as the Board chair of The Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy in Traverse City, Michigan. He and his wife have three adult children, one of whom is quadriplegic, and they are devoted caregivers.
