About the Event

Join us for a conversation with David Dwan as he discusses his new book The Good Life and Other Fictions. Dwan explores how literary fiction confronts us with the broader role of fictiveness in our lives – the way illusion, imagination, and idealisation underwrite our sense of what’s good or important. Drawing on his examination of the relationship between modern literature and philosophy, Dwan reflects on a range of novels and stories to ask what imaginative literature reveals about flourishing, self-deception, and our reliance on narrative for our conception of the world.
