Biography
After attending various Great Books, university alumni, and extension courses, Hope started the Basic Program in 2004. The knowledge, brilliance, and amiability of the instructors delighted her, and she found the curriculum challenging, entertaining, and inspiring. Twenty years later, she still enjoys reading and analytic discussion with instructors and classmates, and the comraderie of a community of lifelong learners. Hope considers the Basic Program one of Chicago’s great cultural institutions and is grateful to be able to help insure its future.
