This year’s gathering will be hosted by Graham Circle member Evonne Yonover at the Arts Club of Chicago. The gathering will feature hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and mingling, as well as a conversation between Dean Seth Green and Adrian Johns, Allan Grant Maclear Professor of History at the University of Chicago and author of the Science of Reading.
Johns will share insights on the profound impact of reading on modern civilization and its intricate history. We’ll delve into the story of how American scientists have sought to understand and improve this essential practice, all while embracing the spirit of lifelong learning and curiosity.
